How do I know if I need a Level 2 faster charger?
Every electric car comes with a cord that you can plug into any 120 V outlet. This will provide you 3-5 miles of charge per hour. Most electric car owners will want to install a 240 V outlet (like the ones your clothing dryer uses) and a Level 2 charger. With a faster charger, you get about 25 miles of range per hour that you charge, so you’ll be able to top up from empty after 8-10 hours of charging. You’lll wake up every morning with a full tank and never have to go to the gas station again.
What is required to install a Level 2 faster charger?
A faster charger requires a 240v outlet in your garage and space on your electrical panel to support a new 50 amp circuit breaker if there is not an existing outlet. We’ll need a few details and photos of your home to assess installation specifics, such as where you want the charger installed and how far the install location is from your electrical panel. Installs typically take less than a day, and require minimal access inside your home, depending on the location of your electrical panel.
Will my Level 2 faster charger be compatible with any vehicle?
Your level 2 faster charger will be compatible with most vehicles out of the box with no need for an adapter. Maximum charging speeds may vary by vehicle, but your faster charger will adapt accordingly. Tesla models also support standard Level 2 chargers with an adapter that is included with the standard charging cable.
What is the AES Indiana EV Managed Charging program?
During hours when lots of people are using energy at once, it can become inefficient and expensive to get energy to everyone who needs it. So, on occasional days when we’re expecting extra-high energy demand, we’ll schedule Peak Demand Hours. Your JuiceBox's charging will pause during these hours, but you can still create settings to ensure you get a charge by a particular time.

By taking part in the program, you help us avoid turning to less clean and affordable energy sources when electricity demand gets high. You also get rewarded for taking part — you’ll get a $150 Prepaid Mastercard as an enrollment bonus when you sign up with your JuiceBox charger, or get $250 off a new JuiceBox in the AES Indiana charging bundles. Plus you’ll receive another $25 Prepaid Mastercard at the end of each program season you participate (the program runs two seasons per year).
Where can I charge if I don’t own my home or live in a multi-family complex?
If charging is not at home is not an option for you, there are many public chargers available in common places like store parking lots, public parking garages, and along commonly traveled highways.
